Since Will Smit, the husband of actress Pinkett-Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscars in March, this was the first Red Table Talk episode to air.
With the release of the fifth season of her talk program Red Table Talk, Jada Pinkett-Smith referred to her husband Will Smith’s involvement in the Oscars slap.
The Smith family has been concentrating on profound healing in light of everything that has occurred in the last few weeks. When the time is right, some of the revelations regarding our healing will be discussed at the table, according to the title card for the episode of the Facebook Watch chat show that aired on Wednesday.
The statement from Pinkett-Smith added, “Until then… the table will continue offering itself to strong, inspiring, and healing testimony like those of our tremendously outstanding first guest. Thank you for coming.
Red Table Talk features Willow Smith and her mother Adrienne Banfield Norris talking about a variety of issues.
Since the Oscars in March, this was the first Red Table Talk episode. Will Smith slapped host and comedian Chris Rock during the program after he made a joke about his wife.
Smith slapped Pinkett-Smith after she compared her to Demi Moore’s bald character “GI Jane,” who has alopecia and shaved her head last summer.
Rock was shocked to learn that Smith had won the Best Actor Oscar for his performance in “King Richard.”
Rock received a public apology from Will Smith in a statement, but the Academy looked into it as a result of the outcry. Smith was prohibited from going to any Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences events, including the Oscars, for ten years.
Smith later left the Academy, therefore he is no longer eligible to vote for Oscars in the future.
