In a statement to the media late on Monday, FIFA stated that the All India Football Federation (AIFF) had been suspended “due to improper influence from third parties.” The nation won’t be able to host the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup as scheduled, according to the statement.

According to a FIFA statement, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has been suspended with immediate effect “due to excessive influence from third parties, which constitutes a major violation of the FIFA Statutes.”

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2022, which was slated to take place in India from October 11–30, 2022, cannot currently be hosted in India as scheduled, it was noted.

FIFA stated that the infraction “constitutes a serious violation of the FIFA Statutes” and that the suspension will take effect right away.
