Big Love For Best Film At The Oscars In 2022 WILL SMITH IS THE BEST ACTOR, CODA. The Winners’ List

Even before the Oscars ceremony began, Dune received four awards.

New Delhi: CODA’s significant victory at the 94th Academy Awards is significant in every manner. The movie took home three significant honors that evening: Best Film, Best Supporting Actor for Troy Kotsur, a hearing-impaired actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay. La Famille Belier, a 2014 French film, was translated into English and written and directed by Sian Heder. The story revolves around Ruby Rossi (Emilia Jones), a deaf family’s lone hearing member who struggles to manage her personal life with her family’s fishing operation. The Power Of The Dog was defeated by CODA, winning just one of its twelve nominations for Best Director, Jane Campion.

First-time winners of the acting awards were announced. During his emotional acceptance speech for Best Actor for King Richard, Will Smith also expressed regret for punching presenter Chris Rock earlier in the program after the latter made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett. Jessica Chastain, who won Best Actress for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, accepted her Oscar from Anthony Hopkins, who showed up this year to present Jessica with her prize after missing last year’s ceremony to get his Best Actor Oscar.

After his CODA co-star Marlee Matlin, Troy Kotsur became the second deaf actor to receive an Academy Award. Troy Kotsur congratulated his family and the CODA team after collecting the prize. His honor was also given as a gift to the CODA neighborhood and the deaf. The next thing he said was, “This is our chance.” A sign language standing ovation was given to the actor. Rita Moreno won the Oscar for playing Anita in the original West Side Story, while Ariana DeBose won Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of the character in Steven Spielberg’s remake.

Of the 10 awards Dune was nominated for, six were won. India’s Writing With Fire lost out on the Best Documentary Feature award, which went to Summer Of Soul. At the same time, Japan’s Drive My Car won Best International Feature and Best Animated Feature.

To be honest, this year’s Academy Awards have dealt with controversy like most years. The Best Documentary Short, Best Live Action Short, Best Animated Short, Best Original Score, Best Makeup And Hair, Best Film Editing, Best Sound, and Best Production Design were awarded awards off-camera despite harsh criticism. After admitting on social media that she had not received an invitation to the Oscars, actress Rachel Zegler, who starred in the Best Picture candidate West Side Story, was invited to present.

The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles served as the 94th Academy Awards’ host location, with actors Wanda Sykes, Amy Schumer, and Regina Hall serving as the presenters. Samuel L. Jackson, Liv Ullmann, and writer-actor-director Elaine May all received honorary Oscars. The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award went to Danny Glover.
