Cheteshwar Pujara had virtually scored half of his team’s runs when he got out in the 48th over.

Cheteshwar Pujara, an expert in Test cricket for India, hammered his way to a career-best List. In the Royal London Cup One Day Championship on Sunday, Sussex compiled a massive 378 for 6 against Surrey, with a score of 174, giving him his second hundred in as many days.

To get to his 79-ball 107 on Friday, Pujara had to cane the Warwickshire attack, albeit in a losing cause.

On a small county field in Hove on Sunday, Sussex chose to bat first. After the first four overs, they were 9/2 when Tom Clark (104 off 106 balls) and Pujara teamed up to contribute 205 runs for the third wicket.

In the 50-over format, Pujara, who has a near-55 average in List A cricket, achieved his 13th century. He faced 131 balls in all, striking 20 fours and five sixes.
