Grammys 2022: Lata Mangeshkar was absent from a second tribute after the Oscars. Twitter is incensed

Disappointed viewers watch the Grammys in 2022 Missing from the “In Memoriam” part was Lata Mangeshkar

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).

New Delhi: Lata Mangeshkar, one of the most recognizable voices in the world, was not honored in the Grammys 2022 In Memoriam segment. The In Memoriam section honors all the celebrities from the entertainment industry who passed away in the previous year. Even the 2022 Oscars In Memoriam segment had failed to recognize Lata Mangeshkar, not only the Grammys. She worked for more than 70 years and started as a playback vocalist.

Stephen Sondheim’s songs were honored during the Grammys 2022 In Memoriam segment by Cynthia Erivo, Leslie Odom Jr., Ben Platt, and Rachel Zegler. The In Memoriam segment also included tributes to Taylor Hawkins, Tom Parker, DMX, Meat Loaf, Ronnie Spector, Mark Lanegan, Shock G, Virgil Abloh, Biz Markie, Rusty Young, Connie Bradley, Stonewall Jackson, and Roger Hawkins.

On Twitter, Lata Mangeshkar supporters have voiced their dissatisfaction with the Recording Academy. How did you miss the renowned vocalist #LataMangeshkar, @mangeshkarlata, in the Memoriam segment this evening, a fan asked in a tweet.

“In-Memoriam performances at the #GRAMMYs and the #Oscars2022, respectively, do not feature the famous #LataMangeshkar. And then these award shows will repeatedly talk about inclusivity and diversity. LOL! “reads a follower’s tweet.

Another irate supporter posted, “First it was the Oscars, and now there is no mention of #LataMangeshkar in the #GRAMMYs In Memoriam. How stupid are these executives? On that Grammy stage tonight, Lataji was more famous than everyone else combined.”
