The ICC’s Board of Directors’ sole female member, Indra Nooyi, has chosen to withdraw from the planned sale of the organization’s media rights because she also serves on the board of possible digital rights bidder Amazon.
On August 22, sealed bids for the sale of the ICC’s TV and digital rights package for the Indian subcontinent must be filed.
An online auction will be launched to select the winning bidder if there is a tie amongst the bidders.
Potential bidders include Star, Viacom18, Sony, and Amazon, among others.
