UAE (Dubai) Following the announcement this week that it will manage and operate the new world-class marina at The Wave, Muscat, Oman’s newly developed premier waterfront destination, Mourjan Marinas IGY’s portfolio of projects across the Middle East has continued to grow. The contract was signed by the CEOs of The Wave and Mourjan Marinas IGY, Michael Horrigan and Michael Lenarduzzi, respectively.
A Greg Norman-designed golf course, five-star hotels, and a plethora of new retail, leisure, and dining options are all part of The Wave, Muscat, the first integrated resort and residential development to be undertaken in the greater Muscat area. The development also features a 7-kilometre seafront.
The 400+ berth marina that welcomes sailing enthusiasts and offers a fully integrated marina lifestyle to its new residents is located at the centre of The Wave in Muscat. The opportunity this initiative gives Mourjan Marinas IGY to support Oman’s overarching objective of developing a world-class sailing boat industry, according to Horrigan, is what makes it so alluring. The Wave, Muscat’s first phase will debut in the second half of the year.
Lenarduzzi declared: “This agreement demonstrates our dedication to not only creating the ideal home and lifestyle destination in the centre of the capital but also supporting the burgeoning tourism sector of the country. As we position Oman as a prestigious yachting and sailing centre that would compete in the world’s luxury boating circuit, the Marina will unquestionably complement our current standard of living.”
Following a string of recent strategic alliances, including the creation of the first marina as part of the Lusail City development in Doha, Qatar, and the management of two marinas as part of the upcoming Marsa Al Seef project in the Kingdom of Bahrain, it has been announced that Mourjan Marinas IGY will build The Wave, Muscat, the nation’s premier marina.
