Russia approves a new regulation regarding imports

It will permit the importation of goods into the nation without the owner of the trademark’s consent.

A measure allowing for the authorization of parallel imports into the nation was approved by Russia’s State Duma on Tuesday. The law shields Russian businesses from potential legal, administrative, and criminal penalties when they import items without the rightsholder’s consent.

The action, in the opinion of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, will protect Russian consumers’ interests. Despite Western sanctions, it will also help the nation’s economy grow.

The Russian government granted shops freedom to import goods from other countries without the owner of the trademark in March. The choice was made after numerous international companies stopped selling to or exporting to Russia as a result of pressure from their governments to abide by sanctions.
