Sports | On Day 2 of the All-India Kiteboarding Championship, Katya Saini Retains the Pole Position While Dyl

In the third edition of the All-India KiteBoarding Championships held at the Veppalodai Beach, Dylan Fernandes of Aqua Outback jumped to take the lead with a consistent performance in all four races in the men’s category on day 2, while Katya Saini of Aqua Outback kept her lead in the women’s category.

Dylan passed Arjun Motha of Aqua Outback and Jehan Hoshi Driver of Quest Adventure Sports Academy, who had placed first and second, respectively, on Day 1. Arjun and Jehan had total net scores of 16.0 and 17.0, respectively, while Dylan had a final score of 8.0. After the Day 2 races, Dylan commented, “I felt optimistic about taking the lead today even after incurring a penalty on Day 1 since my rhythm was good and I was able to kiteboard consistently.”

With a net score of 6.0, Katya Saini of Aqua Outback retained her lead over Keona Ranjini of PKA, who scored 11.0, in the women’s division. The third place belongs to Aqua Outback’s Avishma Matta.

After the races, a confident Katya declared, “I want to perform in the same style and finish the regatta as the champion.”
